Search for Local Singers (c) Louise Taylor
Opera Sunderland has created an opera for the City of Sunderland, with football at the heart of the story. Written by award-winning North East author David Almond and composer Marcos Fernandez, An Opera for Sunderland is all about local people taking part.
The opera will be performed in Sunderland Minster 27 – 29 November 2015, and we’re looking for local singers of all ages to take part. Budding performers don’t need to have previous experience; you don’t need to be able to read music or even to have performed opera before – you just need to love singing!
Come along to one of our free workshops and find out more; meet our experienced creative team and sing some songs from the opera.
Youth Chorus Workshop – Saturday 11 July 10am – 4pm
For singers aged 12 – 19yrs. If you are aged 12 – 17yrs the online booking form will need to be completed by a parent/guardian, and we will need them to complete and return a consent form.
Adult Chorus Workshop – Sunday 12 July 10am – 4pm
For ages 20+ no upper limit! Complete the online booking form to reserve your workshop place.
